I still own this Garfield game. It's not too bad. But, sadly, it's has a few glitches that make it harder than it needs to be and I had to use my Game Genie to beat it.

...as a kid, I mainly loved it because I thought the graphics were awesome. ^_^
However, I could have done without that "it's almost as good as licking myself" joke. Seriously, comic? Ew. >_<

As always, I don't mind if people use these scans to make icons or whatever (I can't claim "ownership" of a book with characters that clearly aren't mine just because I scanned it). But credit would be much appreciated if you do opt to use them or show them off elsewhere. Thanks!

Date: 2013-01-28 08:45 am (UTC)Plus - in the very first panel, it's Fred who drives. But who's the driver when the POV is shifted to the gang? VELMA! Seriously, was someone out there high or half asleep?

Date: 2013-01-28 09:32 am (UTC)From a technical standpoint, I don't see why the artist re-drew that scene when he could have gotten away with tracing the driving scene from the first page (since it's a flashback and all). I can't believe he made extra work for himself when he didn't have to.
However, this book's mistakes aren't the worst goofs I've seen in a Scooby comic (there was one 1970s issue where Shaggy was called "Fuzzy" and another where Fred was called "Mark" O_o)

I have a theory why it was Velma who had to act jealous. I think Fred was afraid Daphne would take it too seriously... :)

Date: 2013-01-29 07:20 am (UTC)Hey, I'm not into Fred/Velma (and Shaggy/Daphne, too, by the way) so I'm gonna shrug off the little clues (like this "jealous act") and reluctantly accept the huge ones as an AU! ^_^
However, when it comes to Shaggy/Velma (and, to a lesser extent, also Fred/Daphne) - I'm gonna cling to a tiniest clue possible! :)

Date: 2013-01-28 07:49 pm (UTC)I actually think Velma/Fred is kinda cute and could work in certain Scooby canons (they have a lot of chemistry in Whats New Scooby Doo...)
I never really watched Mystery Science Theater 3000. :(
Don't feel too bad. I didn't discover it until my late teens because I didn't have cable growing up.
You can always find Mystery Science Theatre on Netflix, DVD, or YouTube if you're curious about it. It's a lot of fun if you enjoy riffing on cheesy B-movies.
