In this episode, Scooby runs away from home because a misunderstanding causes him to think the gang doesn’t love him anymore. Get your tissues ready, folks!

I bought the digital rental of the new Scooby Doo: Mask of the Blue Falcon movie because I'm impatient. So I decided to snap some screenshots and give you guys a spoiler-free review (and first look) at the new movie.

If you want to use these screen caps or show them off elsewhere, that's fine. Just do me a favor and remember to credit me for them. :)

Believe it or not, this special has one major thing in common with an anime called Slayers Premium. Both movies are saved by an actor named Crispin Freeman. No, really! Follow Evil Frosty and find out how!!

The Haunted Holidays special is a new mini-movie that's included on a compulation DVD called "13 Spooky Tales: Holiday Thrills and Chills". In addition to the new special, it has about a dozen random Scooby episodes from various incarnations that share a Winter Time theme (but I'm only gonna touch on the new one).

The HD trailer is online. But I was bored and took screenshots from my Big Top Scooby Doo DVD anyway. Feel free to use 'em however you like!

In this issue the gang gets roped into an adventure with Candidate Dracula, Scooby Doo gets political, and Daphne enters a haunted beauty pageant!

Up until now, I've focused on reviewing/re-capping Scooby Doo episodes that I enjoy. However, I’m told that negative reviews are far more fun for others to read. So this time I’m re-capping an episode that sucks from the What’s New Scooby Doo Series: “Camp Comeoniwannascareya”

This issue is pretty action packed! In it, the gang visits a military base, a mummy's tomb, a casino, and a magic wishing well. And Fred has a bizarre identity crisis!

As always, I don't mind if people use these scans to make icons or whatever (I can't claim "ownership" of a book with characters that clearly aren't mine just because I scanned it). But credit would be much appreciated if you do opt to use them or show them off elsewhere. Thanks!

This episode takes place on an Indian reservation. I think you know what this means: We get to see some awkward, unintentional, 80s-era cartoon racism! HOORAY!!

Jinkies! It's been a while since I did one of these!

As much as I love doing reviews of Pup Named Scooby Doo episodes, I thought it would be fun to do an episode re-cap from a Scooby show that isn’t clouded by my nostalgia goggles. What’s New Scooby Doo is a decent show; but I found it to be VERY hit-and-miss. It got some big things wrong (I’ll get to them later on). But one of the things it did right was making Fred and Velma fun and interesting without flanderizing them too much. And this particular episode was all about Velma and the one bizarre phobia that was strong enough to make her play hooky during a mystery…

The Scooby Doo Drinking Game: Featuring Charlton issues 1-3 (1975)

I wanted to make these old comics available to you guys. But just dumping the scans here seemed too boring, so I decided to make a game of it. Here are the rules:

    1. Even though I’m calling it a “drinking game”, alcohol is not required. I don’t drink, so I’m opting for soda and/or ice cream. Having a fun munchie nearby makes the game more fun, but it’s not required.

    2. Take a drink/bite/whatever every time you spot something that would NEVER fly in a modern children’s comic book (or children’s anything for that matter).
Stuff that is ridiculously dated and/or inappropriate can also warrant drink/bite if you feel that said stuff is extreme enough to deserve it.

    3. Take two drinks whenever a HUGE error makes it past the editors (ie getting a character’s name wrong, drawing them REALLY off model, a hideous typo, etc)

    4. Take a drink for any wildly OOC behavior on the part of our main characters.

HAVE FUN!

You can also just look at the pictures without my dopey commentary. I’d be happy to put these up in zip format on mega upload; but sadly, I don’t know how. If anyone wants to help me with that, that would be great.

On to the game!

This comic is a real treat. It was written AND drawn by people who actually worked on the show. So it looks and feels like watching a "lost episode" in storyboard form. Best $6 I ever spent. ^_^

This episode is a bit weird and I’m torn on whether to call it “cute” or “mildly disturbing”.

OK, the actual title is Scooby Dude. But everybody knows it as “The Drug Episode”.  I’m sure most of you are already aware that every show produced in the late 80s/early 90s was legally obligated to make a “very special” drug episode even if that particular subject matter was completely out of place. Typically, said drug episodes would fail because their unintentional hilarity would drown out any legitimate anti-drug message. Pup’s drug episode was one of them.

And no, the unintentional hilarity does not come from the popular perception that Shaggy is a stoner (though that does play a part). Believe it or not, it gets even weirder than that…

This episode is one of my personal favorites. Mainly because we get to see a side of Shaggy that no other Scooby show ever delved into: the doting big brother. It's really cute to watch and I think it gives his character a bit of extra depth and likability.

Also, on a completely shallow note, I LOVE the way Shaggy's parents were designed in this show (for once, Shaggy's mom doesn't look like him in drag!). And making both of his parents really attractive makes for a funny contrast with the awkward, scrawny guy that Shaggy will grow up to be.

Now, without further ado, on to the episode!

Note: This title screen is a typo. All the characters in the show clearly call her "Mrs Shushman". So I will do the same.

This is the obligatory “teach kids about the importance of reading” episode that cartoons of the late 80s and early 90s were required to have (along with the unintentionally hilarious drug episode). Luckily, Pup’s foray into this Very Special Episode territory isn’t too preachy or heavy handed. Sadly, the same can’t be said for it’s “say no to drugs” special (and don’t worry, I promise to get to that one eventually).

A Pup Named Scooby Doo episode review: The Wrath of Waitro

The last review was so much fun I decided to do another one. Don’t worry; this is a short episode, so it won’t be nearly as image-heavy as the Computer Walks Among Us review. ~_^

As always, feel free to use these images for stuff like icons if you want. Credit isn’t necessary (since I clearly don’t own this series), but it would be greatly appreciated.

On to the review!

A Pup Named Scooby Doo episode review: The Computer Walks Among Us

I recently got a hand-me-down video capture device from one of my pals. I figured I’d use it to capture images from A Pup Named Scooby Doo (my favorite Scooby show) and write a fun little review/summary of my favorite episode while I’m at it.

Feel free to use these images for stuff like icons if you want. Credit isn’t necessary (since I clearly don’t own this series), but it would be greatly appreciated.

Without further ado, here goes:
