Hey, I'm not into Fred/Velma (and Shaggy/Daphne, too, by the way) so I'm gonna shrug off the little clues (like this "jealous act") and reluctantly accept the huge ones as an AU! ^_^
However, when it comes to Shaggy/Velma (and, to a lesser extent, also Fred/Daphne) - I'm gonna cling to a tiniest clue possible! :)
