[sticky entry] Sticky: Inaugural Mod Post

Hello, fellow Scooby Doo fans!

I noticed that there weren't any Scooby Doo fan communities on Dreamwidth. So I made one (or more specifically, I imported the scooby_doo community from LiveJournal). I look forward to meeting other fans here.

With that out of the way, here are the ground rules for the community:

Scooby Doo Community rules:

-This should go without saying, but posts have to be relevant to Scooby Doo.

-Be civil. No flaming, trolling, or posting obscene stuff.

-As far as content rules go...personally, I'd prefer to keep explicit, NC-17 level stuff out of this comm. This is Scooby Doo after all and youngsters can easily stumble on this place via a Google search and/or their own DW accounts. As for where the line is between R and NC-17; I'll trust the members of this comm to use their best judgment. Basically, if you're not 100% sure what category your fanfic or fanart falls in to, put it under a members' lock just to be safe.

Scans: Archie #8: WTF!!?!?!?

In this issue, this happens...

Do you want context? Do you want to know what the f**k dinosaurs have to do with Scrappy forcing Daphne to belly-dance? Then read on!

DISCLAIMER: As always, I don't mind if people use these scans to make icons or whatever (after all, I can't claim "ownership" of a book with characters that clearly aren't mine just because I scanned it). But credit and a link back to this post would be much appreciated if you do opt to use them or show them off elsewhere. Thanks!

Scans: Archie #7: "Les Monstres"

In this issue the gang takes a trip to France, Fred and Velma both end up romantically entangled with crazy French people, and then the gang visits New York for a museum exhibit and a Broadway show!

I think my new Scooby Doo comic just commited a hate crime against me....

So...I recently picked up a back issue of one of the DC Scooby comics published in 2001. This issue tried to educate the readers about Jewish culture by introducing a Jewish uncle for Daphne to visit (which is all well and good). However, it then proceeded to use a horrible, anti-Semitic racial slur!

I'm sure it wasn't intentional (not everyone knows the history behind this awful term/stereotype). But dear lord, DC. Do your research!

Scans: Archie #5: Mad Science!

In this issue the gang snags a recurring villain, Velma/Fred shippers get a tiny bit of fan-service, and Daphne reveals herself to be a Mystery Science Theater 3000 fangirl!

In this issue the gang visits Canada (and Scrappy nearly causes an international incident) and then the gang uses stunt planes to battle aliens!

Scooby Doo: Mask of the Blue Falcon (spoiler-free review)

I bought the digital rental of the new Scooby Doo: Mask of the Blue Falcon movie because I'm impatient. So I decided to snap some screenshots and give you guys a spoiler-free review (and first look) at the new movie.

If you want to use these screen caps or show them off elsewhere, that's fine. Just do me a favor and remember to credit me for them. :)
